Sarika Kuhn
Architectural Designer
(she/her)
A self-described Florida woman finds forever home on the West Coast. No, that’s not another strange Florida news headline, it’s Sarika who joined Ink Built in 2019 bringing with her a dedicated passion for design and social justice, duh! Having grown up around thoroughbred race horses, it’s clear where her commitment to helping her team and the spaces she designs better in every way. When it comes to the values that drive her, Sarika’s incredible empathy shines through in how she collaborates, her special attention to trauma-informed design, even how she talks about the adorable pups that adorn her home work space during team Zoom calls!
Forging her talents in the halls of USF (South Florida) and through six years of work on high-end residential projects, schools, and military facilities, she came out west longing for a place to meld both heart and mind together in the kind of magical, synergistic design flow she knew was elusive but possible in a career. We’re striving to build that kind of workplace culture together ‘ cuz we know it’s possible too!
As a socially minded designer, she believes architecture can contribute to creating more equitable and healthy communities. We are amazed every day by her skill at hand sketching and her fervent belief that putting pen to paper is one of the best ways to explore, create, and problem solve. Not only does Sarika want to empower other women and see more diversity in architecture, with her passion for mentoring, we see her leading the way!
If great wine, heartfelt conversation about restorative justice, and an immersive sketch drawing experience sounds unforgettably awesome; just hope you run across her on a sunny day at your favorite Willamette Valley vineyard and on that day, count yourself soups lucky.
