As the first opportunity for Habitat to bring affordable home ownership to Lake Oswego, this project represents a thoughtful adaptation to a site with significant slopes, concerned neighbors, many existing trees, pre-platted lots, railroad adjacency, and intensive design review requirements. Despite these many challenges, the design strives for livability with simplicity as critical to the client’s mission and budget. As a result, these townhomes tuck into the sloping site with driveways and garages faced toward an internal private street while cozy front entry porches provide a friendly and inviting face to the community.

As our third project with Habitat, these townhomes are designed to move ever closer toward their goal of creating an efficient, beautiful, and repeatable model for their projects. The design continues to incorporate all best practices and lessons learned as our teams collaborate together, resulting in extremely energy, resource, and labor-efficient construction of homes that support exceptional quality of life for their future owners.

Consistent across all these projects is woven a profound reverence for community connection within the context of nature. Mature trees are preserved as they provide shelter, clean air, and beauty for residents.
